Privacy Policy
Ignite Streak ("Ignite," "we," "us") is an iPhone app for step challenges. This policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and how to delete it. If you have a question, email [email protected].
What we collect
- Account. When you sign in with Apple or with email, we receive an account ID and your email address. If you use Hide My Email, we only see Apple's relay address.
- Profile. The handle and display name you choose.
- Steps from Apple Health. With your permission, the app reads your step count and active energy. Only your daily step total for each challenge day is sent to us. Everything else stays on your phone.
- Challenge activity. The challenges you join, your daily results, your time zone (so each day ends at your midnight), and your Spark balance and history.
- Purchases. If you subscribe to Ignite+, we store your subscription status and Apple's transaction ID to confirm it. Apple handles payment, and we never see your card details.
- App usage. Basic in-app events, such as opening the app, joining a challenge, or finishing one, along with the app version. We use these to fix problems and improve the app.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider briefly records IP addresses and device type for each request, to keep the service running and secure.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifier. Anything you type into your profile city or send through in-app feedback stays on your phone.
How we use it
- To create and secure your account
- To run challenges: check whether you hit each day's goal, keep the leaderboard current, and split the Spark pot among finishers
- To provide Ignite+ features, such as the grace day
- To send notifications you've allowed, such as reminders during a challenge
- To find bugs and understand which features people use
Apple Health data
- The app reads step count and active energy. It never writes to Apple Health.
- For each day you're in a challenge, one step total for that day, and whether it came from a verified source, is sent to our servers so the challenge can be scored fairly for everyone. Active energy and all other health data stay on your phone.
- Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with data brokers.
- Health data is never stored in iCloud.
- You can turn off access at any time in Settings, then Health, then Data Access & Devices, then Ignite Streak. Without it you can browse challenges but not join them.
What other players see
Players in the same challenge can see your handle, display name, daily step totals for that challenge, and whether you're still in, finished, or out. Nobody sees your email address.
Who we share it with
We don't sell personal data. We share it only with service providers that run the app for us, under agreements that limit their use to providing the service:
- Supabase, which hosts our database and sign-in (servers in the United States)
- Apple, for Sign in with Apple, Apple Health, notifications, and in-app purchases
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users.
Spark
Spark is an in-app point you earn by taking part in challenges. It can't be bought, and it has no cash value. It can't be exchanged for money or prizes.
How long we keep it, and how to delete it
We keep your data while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time in the app, in Settings, then Delete Account. That removes your account and your step totals. You can also email [email protected] from the address on your account, and we'll delete it within 30 days. Some records, such as the total Spark paid out in a past challenge, may be kept without anything that identifies you so that other players' results stay accurate.
Deleting the app does not delete your account. To cancel Ignite+, use your Apple subscription settings.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, including California and the European Union, you may have additional rights under local law. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to our database is restricted so each player can only reach their own private data.
Children
Ignite Streak is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app.
